PDI’s Injury Care Direct™ Program provides a licensed nurse, 24 hours per day/7 days per week to provide pro-active medical advice and intervention to injured and ill employees at the time of the incident. The nurse’s function is to establish rapport with an injured employee; provide immediate medical advice; direct initial medical care; ascertain critical claims information pertaining to the injury-accident; promote well-being between the injured employee, employer and claims administrator; and immediately report all information gathered to the stakeholders.

When the Injury Care Direct™ program is integrated into an industrial claims reporting process, the following benefits can occur:

  1. Time and efficiency costs are reduced;
  2. Costs for expertise can be applied elsewhere with greater value to the overall performance of the Workers’ Compensation program;
  3. A recognizable and increased morale boost from the injured employee is demonstrated;
  4. Quicker, consistent reporting time for new injury claims, especially those involving non-day shift employees.
